Miss Representation is a feature length documentary film looking at the messages created about women by the media and television. The documentary explores these messages, and shows the powerful effects that they have on our understanding of ourselves as able to make change in the world. Check out the incredible trailer for the film (written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom) below if you’re looking for some goosebumps
Miss Representation explores the stories and experiences of young girls who live in this world of media definition, and also includes interesting interviews from influential women from across the spectrum including Gloria Steinem, Rosario Dawson, Geena Davis and Condoleezza Rice. It also showcases some interesting ways that we can work against this media oppression.
