Amy Heydenrych

Amy Heydenrych is a writer and volunteer counsellor living in Johannesburg. She holds a BJourn from Rhodes University and an Honours degree in International Relations from Wits University. As a fiction author, one of her short stories has recently been published by Jacana in the People Opposing Women’s Abuse 2011 Women’s Writing Anthology and in 2012 she won the inaugural Short Story Day Africa fiction writing competition. She has also recently been announced as a finalist for the Grahamstown Festival’s inaugural Short Sharp Story crime fiction competition. By day, she works for a Pan-African development finance company. In her spare time, Amy works as a volunteer counsellor, loves yoga and experiments with vegetarian cooking.
